| Living a Childhood Dream |  As a boy I discovered a fascinating book at my library. It was about a ship that was disguised as a giant sea monster. A schematic of the various rooms and corridors were laid out in the front and back of the book. The most remarkable feature was the very long and wavy slide the passengers could slide down inside the ship, all the way from the head to the tail of the giant sea monster ship. As an adult, I had often unsuccessfully tried to find that fascinating child's book.
Many years ago, I remember seeing the Grand Princess cruise ship on television, at the time, the largest passenger vessel in the world. I remember pondering about going on a cruise on day, maybe on that ship. But what would I ever do on a cruise ship? Wouldn't it be so boring and claustrophobic?
In 2006, Rebecca Bowman and I began a fascinating voyage, traveling the world for two years on the cruise ships. Rebecca is a truly talented professional singer, performing on cruise ships for most her adult life. With an internet publishing company, I had the freedom to travel the world with her. And believe it or not, we lived over six months on that very ship I saw on my television screen all those years ago. Those were some of the most fun years of my life!
Now since 2008, we have been venturing out on our own, taking extended vacations to India (1 month), New York City (4 months), Wine Country (2 month), Australia (3 weeks), and now the Bay area.
